Georreferenciamento das aranhas recebidas no Instituto Butantan (Loxosceles gaucho e Phoneutria nigriventer)

Abstract

The arthropods correspond to a large taxonomic group, being found in most habitats. The order Araneae has a morphology of easy identification, is an abundant group counting today with 47,976 species included in 117 families in the world. Some species such as Loxosceles gaucho and Phoneutria nigriventer are considered of great medical importance, only in the year 2017 were reported approximately 5,000 cases of araneísmo in the state of São Paulo. The georreferencing of spider entry of the species Phoneutria nigriventer and Loxosceles gaucho from the reception of animals of the Butantan Institute from 2013 to 2017, restricted to the State of São Paulo, was carried out. The amount of animals delivered through the spontaneous demand (DE) and number of animals collected by the Arthropod Laboratory (LA) was analyzed. A total of 103,290 spiders entries of the L. gaucho species were recorded. Of these, 102,429 (99%) were collected by the Arthropod Laboratory and 871 (1%) from spontaneous deliveries. With 4,155 entries of spiders of the species P. nigriventer, 1,537 (36.63%) came from collections made by the Arthropod Laboratory, and 2,659 (63.37%) from spontaneous deliveries. New sites may be significant collection points of the Arthropod Laboratory, and it is necessary to evaluate the quantity and regions of both the animals that come from the laboratory collections and also the spontaneous demand that they receive at the reception of animals from the Butantan Institute.
